I participated in the “Point in Time” count this morning in downtown Salt Lake City. As part of a team with the @4thstreetclinic we counted our unsheltered population in a particular tract of downtown. This data, gathered largely by volunteers, is how funding for these populations gets distributed nationally. We met a 23 year old boy who was wide awake at 4am, clearly not in a good head space, and when I asked him if he needed, he said, “love.” Hug your people and give grace to those you see on the street, you may never know their story, but they have one. And more likely than not, they just want love. ❤️ ❤️
